Improved confidence at work and in interviews
I have found the sessions with you have been extremely useful,
I can’t always remember exactly what we discussed and sometimes struggled with keeping up with my homework.
But then I look at myself and what I have achieved – staying calm, not getting too stressed with situations, (at work) feeling more confident, speaking up in a large group or feeling more comfortable with leading my team meeting and realize that I have come a long way from where I was when I first met you.
I feel more engaged with trying to find a new position and I am now actively searching for one. I know that the right jobs don’t come up often but I am ready to apply if they do.
Whilst I have yet to trial my interview skills I at least don’t feel like I am going to be sick with the very thought of one! (more confident)

I had been clenching my jaw for 6 years!
I had no idea what to expect at my first meeting as I had never been to a therapist before. Maria talked to me for a while and explained everything very fully, which put me at ease. My issue was physical tension manifesting itself in uncontrolled clenching and chattering of my teeth, particularly during sleep. I now believe that tension in my neck and pain in my shoulders, where I have a rotator cuff injury, were being affected by this too.
The therapy is not difficult
It just needs some concentration and a bit of imagination. I was relaxed in Maria’s company so it was easy for me to open up my imagination and explore my feelings, thoughts, and emotions. In a later session, we explored the history behind my tension… I was able to make sense of the situation, where as a child I had not understood it, so I was able to let it go. This caused a noticeable physical and emotional release within me.
I had no great expectation of a quick result from my therapy; however, I was stunned to find immediate relief from my tension condition after just one session.
Two weeks went by before my next appointment. I had no more jaw ache in the mornings but also my neck and shoulders were no longer tense, aching or painful.
On very few occasions, I used the techniques Maria gave me to control my issue.
I’m in control
I am able to control things now without having to go for therapy. Sometimes I listen to a recording from Maria that helps me to relax and I use some simple anchor techniques.
I recommend Maria as a practitioner of this type of therapy and am sure it would work for many people regardless of whether their issue is physical or psychological.

Skype hypnotherapy worked for my interview anxiety
I needed Maria’s help to prepare for a professional job interview. I particularly needed assistance in managing anxiety relating to a presentation that I had to conduct as part of the interview process.
After a thorough consultation via Skype Maria recorded a personalized set of self-hypnosis instructions for me to listen to. These were extremely effective in helping me to contain and manage the fears I had. I also followed many of the techniques Maria taught me for creating calm and she provided me with a helpful booklet to keep and use as a reminder of the techniques I had learned.

Ditching the thumb suckers habit!
I’d been trying to break my thumb sucking habit for almost 40 years since I was a small child. This seemingly harmless habit caused me constant cravings.
But it was extremely hard to give up. I had tried a range of approaches to quitting, including nail-biting fluid, counseling, and traditional hypnotherapy.
When I decided to try Maria’s approach, I was far from optimistic. I certainly never imagined it would take just two sessions on Skype and a couple of brief phone calls to crack this ingrained habit.
I found that cognitive hypnotherapy was a far more practical approach than anything I’d tried previously, drawing as it does on the latest findings of human behavioral psychology.
What worked for me
Instead of simply removing the thumb sucking, Maria gave me an ‘anchor’ that I could use to replace the habit whenever I felt the cravings. I could do this discreetly in meetings, on the train or in social situations, to help me manage each craving and then watch it fade away. Within a month or so I had stopped using the anchor too.
Maria followed up our sessions with practical support including email check-ups, self-hypnosis MP3 files that I could listen to at home.
I particularly appreciated Maria’s flexibility. As a working mum with young kids on the South Coast, getting to London for face-to-face meetings was almost impossible, so Maria suggested we try working through Skype and phone.
I wasn’t sure how this would affect the experience, but it didn’t lessen the impact in any way. The sessions had an immediate and far-reaching impact on me. Maria’s warmth and steady approach came across clearly and I felt completely reassured and involved.
I suppose the proof is in the pudding – I stopped sucking my thumb after the first session and nine months later I remain thumb free!
