Many people come to hypnotherapy after trying various diets or attending slimming clubs and it can be great to feel that social encouragement, but feelings of inadequacy follow if the results you achieve are at best temporary.

The diets themselves can work – but because most people expect their efforts to be just the quick fix they needed in reaching a targeted weight, the disappointment soon sets in when those pounds don’t miraculously stay off and so starts the constant battle with the weighing scales. As a result, most people end up blaming themselves for their inability to lose and keep the pounds off, spurring them to try yet another diet which ultimately can bring about the same dizzying, frustrating cycle.
